Coming soon: I’ll rebuild my portfolio here.
I’ve built a bunch of websites over the years, including PHP/database-driven dynamic models with their own custom content management systems. I made an experimental “jam generator” interactive website, and I made pdxjams.com which was like jambase.com for Portland-based jam bands, with all kinds of crosslinking. I built sites for several clients. This was mostly in the 2000s. But, I didn’t keep up with changes in PHP, which broke some functionality. Basic hand-coded HTML frameworks no longer suffice for responsive web design necessary for smart phones and various screen sizes. So, here I am with a WordPress based site after all that.
I hope to integrate my old band-history and calendar databases into this website eventually. While it’s a time-suck with questionable ROI, I enjoy the logical challenge of coding, and watching something grow, and knowing it can be viewed from anywhere in the world (and beyond!).
