I’ve moved to Mexico with my wife Kelli — to start a new life!
Family leads us there: we’ve joined Kelli’s Dad’s wife Merri, who has lived in the town for several years. The town is called Ajijic, which is located on Lake Chapala — Mexico’s largest lake — south of Guadalajara. It’s a gorgeous setting in mountains at a mile-high elevation, with a very temperate climate: high of 70s/80s year-round. It’s been a popular destination for retirees from the US & Canada for many years, so there are resources to facilitate the move and adjust to life there.
Live music and the arts are very active and appreciated there, so I expect to have more opportunities to perform than I did in Portland, even though it’s much less populated. I’ll continue to teach, both to new students and to current customers I teach over Zoom. We are really looking forward to the change in culture and lifestyle! I am extremely fortunate to have this opportunity. It shall be a grand adventure and life-enriching experience!
